A Passionate Violinist
Laura decided on a musical career at a young age whilst studying at the prestigious Royal College of Music junior department. Laura took part in many orchestras, often as the youngest member. She was awarded a bursary to train with Pro Corda and in the same year featured on Blue Peter as a guest violinist.
Laura started performing regularly as a soloist, performing the Bruch Violin Concerto and touring Holland. Alongside this, as a keen ensemble player, Laura often performed for the Royal Ballet School and with the RCMJD at some of London’s top venues, such as the Albert Hall.
Laura continued her studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she co-lead the Symphony Orchestra.
Since this Laura has regularly performed in quartets, such as her own, the Diamond String Quartet. She has performed as a soloist at No.10 Downing Street, for United Nations Summits, for televised adverts, the BBC and more recently in Bristol and London with Fever Events. She has a regularly performing Duo with pianist Ben Jenkins, often performing diverse music from Led Zeppelin to Daft Punk.
As a classical trained violinist, Laura has a huge interest in performing electric violin also, with many different genres of music. She plays for numerous top UK festivals and has top of the range equipment including a LED Aurora violin shipped from Brazil!
